I have a similar problem with trial versions of all 112db plugins. Mac OS X 10.6.1, case-sensitive filesystem (just in case it matters). Logic (9.0.2) and Ableton (8.0.8) say that the audio units cannot be opened. VSTs are not recognized at all (they don't show up in VST folder in Live).

Hi,
it seems i'm not alone in this case and the good question is perhaps how many time until the update for Snow Leopard and Logic 9 ? or some english lessons for me (sorry for that).
I'm sure my neighbours will be happy too.
Thank you !
All the best

I'll check into this, but to be honest we haven't upgraded to 10.6 yet.  It kind of surprises me because I remember someone stating on a forum (think it was gearslutz) that he was running one or more Redline plugins with no problems on Snow Leopard.

Now that I think about it some more... could you try deleting the com.112dB.Redline.Monitor.Authorization.plist file in ~/Library/Preferences (where ~ is your home folder) and see if that makes Redline Monitor load again?  When it asks for authorization just hit Cancel for now.  If it does load there is a problem with your authorization files: a bug in OSX causes certain files to cause the same behavior you describe.  If it loads OK without the authorization please contact us at <support@[lotsofdB.com]> and we'll set you up with a new authorization that solves this.

Take care,

Hi dj!

Well, maybe it will work for ratifa but definitely not for me. As I mentioned - the trial versions (of all plugins) don't load :(
And I am surprised too, because I also read somewhere that Redline plugs work fine on Snow Leopard :/

Just to make sure: neither the VST nor the Audio Units versions show up in Live?

For troubleshooting, would you be willing to run the attached diagnostic utility--unzip and then double click the .command file--?  This shd produce a .txt file, if you could send that to <support@[lotsofdB].com> perhaps it allows me to figure out what's wrong.

Thanks,

Nope. Audio Units DO show up in Live (and Logic) but can't be opened. VSTs are completely invisible.
Diagnostics sent as you requested.

Thanks for your answer.

I'm having the same problem with Redline Monitor 1.04, where it doesn't show up in the AU manager in Logic 9 on Snow Leopard.  I never saw it get scanned.  On top of that, although it still shows up in the AU manager, Redline Reverb now fails the validation.  Here is the result for that:

validating Audio Unit Redline Reverb by 112dB:

I resolved the problem with both the Redline Monitor upgrade and Redline Reverb.  The issue was due to the upgrade to Logic 9.10 and switching to 64-bit.  The issue was resolved by selecting Logic Pro in the finder, selecting Get Info, and checking the box to Open in 32-bit mode.  After then starting Logic in 32 bit mode, the update for Redline Monitor was detected.  I had to manually launch the AU manager and rescan to get Redline Reverb to validate.  I was then able to switch back to 64 bit mode and use AU's.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Hi! It's me again ;)

I have just checked the new version (1.0.4) of Redline Monitor and it still doesn't work on my Snow Leopard :(
Still validating the plugin gives the following message:

--------------------------------------------------
VALIDATING AUDIO UNIT: 'aufx' - 'hps ' - '112d'
--------------------------------------------------
Manufacturer String: 112dB
AudioUnit name: Redline Monitor
Component Version: 1.0.4 (0x10004)

TESTING OPEN TIMES:
COLD:
00:00:00:006 | ---- Redline Monitor logger started @ 18:20:42 Mar 9 2010 --------
00:00:00:006 | Redline Monitor 1.0.4 (built @ 09:19:42 Mar  2 2010)
00:00:00:007 | Build type: Release (i386)
Operating system: (unknown)
CPU: Intel Core Duo 2.33 GHz (x2)

00:00:00:007 | SSE2 exceptions: disabled
00:00:00:007 | SSE2 flush to zero: enabled
00:00:00:007 | SSE2 denormals are zero: enabled
FATAL ERROR: OpenAComponent: result: -1,0xFFFFFFFF

validation result: couldn't be opened

updating properties of AU Redline Monitor by 112dB...FAILED!

The audio unit cannot be opened and the vst is totally invisible to applications. I think I'm going to give it up although I was really interested in Redline Monitor and especially Morgana.

To be honest I don't really have a clue what's going wrong--everything checks out from the diagnostics you sent and Monitor works fine on other Snow Leopard setups.  Just a wild shot: could you check whether the following two locations

  /Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences
  /Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost

contains any files com.112dB.* and if so, delete them and try again?  Let me know whether that changes anything.

Also I take it you tried the fix posted by iocean a couple of posts down?

Take care,

Hi guys!

I've recently bought Sennheiser HD600 heaphones and was thinking of testing the demo ver of Redline Monitor plug.
Unfortunately it doesn't work..
I'm using OSX 10.6.4 & Logic Pro 9.1.1 - so it considers the AU plugin.
I'm having exactly the same problem as user "pagaj" - plugin can't be validated. (the same validation message he posted)
I've tried switching to 32-bit as it was suggested few post's earlier but it still doesn't work.
I also don't have any com.112db files in -/Library/Preferences.

So, did You find any solution to this problem? Or still nothing?
