Lookahead knob suggestion

With all these Latency reports(Logic, Cubase and of course Pro Tools)  I'd like to propose either some kind of lookahead knob(is this possible with linear phase EQs?) like the one BBL has or else develop the low-latency mode that Dj was intending for V2.  Just a reminder if you happen to be working on REQ.
